VF Corporation is an American global apparel and footwear company. The company owns a broad portfolio of brands, which are organized into three categories: Outdoor, Active, and Work. Some of its well-known brands include Vans, The North Face, Timberland, JanSport, and Dickies. 

Project Overview

I led a team focused on the Product Listing Page (PLP), implementing and refining a global design system. I worked with brand and Agile teams to address feedback, resolve bugs, and drive continuous improvements.

I led a long-term project focused on improving and creating components within the Product Listing pages for a global design system. My main goal was ensuring the design system met the specific needs of multiple brands. I addressed bugs, refined the system for clarity, and collaborated closely with Agile teams, Product Owners, and Developers to drive progress and alignment.

Outcome

VF Corporation avoided $1.3 million in quarterly accessibility fines.

Boosted cart and checkout conversion rates

Project Approach

I worked with one brand at a time, collaborating daily with an Agile team to apply design best practices and drive development, while implementing new and refined components.

Responsibilities

Iterate on current designs, while doing research and user testing

Work closely with a dev team for discovery and clarity.

Attend daily Agile team meeting as well as scheduled scrum meetings

Present iteration and project enhancements department and company wide.

Problem Space

Each brand relied on its own separate codebase and design system. Creating duplicated code and less time to update and refine designs.

Given the scale of this project, my work on the Product Listing Page involved numerous smaller tasks, each contributing to the broader design systems and impacting both the global and brand design frameworks. Below is a summary of some key areas I focused on within the page.

Impact

We successfully launched a unified platform that enhanced user experience and streamlined operations, while implementing a scalable design system that effectively scaled across all seven brands, ensuring a consistent yet customizable experience. The introduction of reusable components and guidelines significantly improved efficiency, reducing both design and development time and leading to faster project turnaround.
